History

A complete history includes:

   
 
  • search for familial PAH
  • questions regarding
    - presence of venous thromboembolism
    - presence of collagen vascular diesase, liver disease, HIV infection, sickle cell disease
    - use of drugs (aminorex, fenfluramine, dexfenfluramine, L-tryptophan, chemotherapeutic agents) and toxins (rapeseed oil, amphetamine, meta-amphetamine, cocaine) (see chapter on risk factors
