Electrocardiogram (ECG)
The ECG may show right ventricular hypertrophy and strain, right axis deviation, partial or complete right bundle branch block and right atrial dilatation.
However, the absence of these signs does not exclude PAH. The ECG has insufficient sensitivity and specificity to be a screening tool for the detection of PH.
